Viewing Amino Acid Sequences

The Protein pages Get Sequence menu shows the name of the gene and the name of each protein hit displayed on the page. You can retrieve any of these sequences in FASTA format or view multiple-sequence alignments by using ClustalW.

To retrieve a sequence in FASTA format:

  1. Click one item or use the control or command key to select more than one. Click Get All Sequences to select all the items.
  2. Click the Get Sequence button to see a report listing the amino acid sequences of the hits you selected.

To view the alignments of two or more sequences:

  1. Click one item and then use the control or command key to select at least one more, or click Get All Sequences to select all the items.
  2. Click the Do ClustalW button to see a multiple-alignment report.

You can also view sequences with the Gene Sequence Viewer.
