Status

v2.0(February 15, 2008): The assembly release version 2.0 of whole shotgun reads was contructed with the Arachne assembler. The genome is in 21 scaffolds with a total size of 21,958,260 bp. The genome is very complete with 19 chromosomes completed telomere to telomere. There are also 2 additional scaffolds which do not appear to be organelle by BLAST and could fit inside some of the larger gaps in the main genome. These are named scaffold_20 and scaffold_21. The current release, v2.0, includes a total of 10,575 gene models predicted and functionally annotated using the JGI annotation pipeline.

v1.0: The assembly release version 1.0 of whole genome shotgun reads was constructed with the JGI assembler, Jazz, using paired end sequencing reads at a coverage of ~7.96X. After trimming for vector and quality, 267,926 reads assembled into 58 main genome scaffolds totaling 21.9 MB. Roughly half of the genome is contained in 8 scaffolds all at least 1.2 MB in length. The v.1.0 assembly includes a total of 8616 gene models predicted and functionally annotated using the JGI annotation pipeline.
